Paros Guide

Paros sits at the heart of the Cyclades — a perfect balance of golden beaches, charming villages, great food, and easy island life. Here’s how to make the most of your stay.

Beaches

  • Lolantonis — a sheltered, sandy bay just 1.5 km from the apartment — our closest beach for a morning swim.
  • Kolymbithres — surreal smooth-rock coves and shallow turquoise water, near Naoussa.
  • Santa Maria — soft sand, beach bars, and watersports on the northeast coast.
  • Golden Beach (Chrissi Akti) — a long sandy stretch loved by windsurfers.
  • Monastiri — calm, family-friendly swimming inside a protected bay.

Villages & towns

  • Naoussa — a picturesque fishing harbour turned stylish hub of tavernas, bars, and boutiques.
  • Parikia — the island’s capital and port, with a Venetian castle and marble lanes.
  • Lefkes — a tranquil mountain village of bougainvillea and old-world charm.

Food & drink

Don’t miss fresh-caught seafood by the water, local cheeses, and Parian wine. Try a long lunch at a seaside taverna, and save room for loukoumades (honey doughnuts) at sunset.

Things to do

  • Take a boat trip to the neighbouring island of Antiparos and its sea caves.
  • Walk the Byzantine marble path between Lefkes and Prodromos.
  • Visit the Panagia Ekatontapiliani, one of Greece’s oldest churches, in Parikia.
  • Catch the sunset from a harbour-side bar in Naoussa.

Getting here

Paros is reached by ferry from Athens (Piraeus or Rafina) or by a short domestic flight to Paros National Airport. Once on the island, a rental car or scooter makes exploring easy, and local buses connect the main towns.

Tip: the shoulder seasons of late May–June and September offer warm seas, sunny days, and a more relaxed pace.
